Podcasting has become an increasingly popular medium, making it more and more difficult to stand out from the crowd. My good friend Aaron Salvato and I had the idea of bringing similar podcasts together to create one network of fresh, candid podcasts about a variety of topics relating to life and faith.

We began working on the project by creating a brand entitled “GoodLion”. Our feeling was that many faith-based podcasts were producing “safe” material, things that were easy slam dunks that shied away from difficult topics and questions. Inspired by C.S. Lewis, we wanted to focus on creating “good” content, not merely “safe” content.

To explain the brand, I crafted a brand voice that we use to guide all of our written articles as well as wrote this brand explanation article that ran on our site. I also worked with Aaron to build the website and ensure the aesthetic helped convey to raw, honest feel we wanted in our content. We also co-host the network’s flagship show, The GoodLion Podcast.

Since launching in February 2019, we have helped pilot over 20 unique shows and generate nearly 10,000 site hits per month.
